Pescia & surroundings

Pescia is called “ Little florence” , and is just 15 minutes from the farmhouse. Located in a central zone between the cities of Lucca and Florence, on the banks of the homonymous river, the town is one of the most important Italian centers dedicated to the mulberry cultivation and silkworm breeding, known also for The author of the adventure of pinocchio. Every year on the first Sunday of September is held in Pescia the Palio of the Archers. For this occasion, the city takes on a suggestive atmosphere thanks to beautiful streets and squares in the centre , adorned with the flags of the four districts contenders.

Adventure Park

The “Hanging Garden” Adventure Park is set among centuries-old oak trees in “Il Giardino” state forest at Riparbella (Pisa), where acrobatic courses through the treetops have been created and are open to all. There are 5 acrobatic courses – 2 for children over 110cm tall, and 3 for adults and youngsters over 140cm tall – consisting of a series of fixed and suspended platforms linked by crossings of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty.

Grotta del Vento

The Grotta del Vento is in the north of Tuscany, in Garfagnana, in the centre of Apuan Alps Park, in an area rich in spectacular and interesting karst phenomena. Here the weather conditions have constantly dug, carved and modelled the limestone rock, creating impressive natural sculptures, such as the Panie Massif, the enormous arch of Monte Forato or the stone waterfalls and crevices of the Vetricia Plateau.
